It is the cutting off of a limb or part of a limb from the body. 02. What are the differnet forms? They are mainly two forms of amputation. The first one is traumatic (i.e. cutting off caused by an accident) and the second one is surgical amputation (i.e. cutting off performed for medical reasons by surgery). 03. What are the causes of traumatic amputation? There are many causes of traumatic amputation, accidents being the most common cause. Amputations are mostly a result of road and work accidents, but there are also cases of amputation linked to warfare. To a lesser extent, amputations may be the result of mistakes in everyday life activities, such as cooking, closing a door, etc. 04. What are the causes of surgical amputation? Surgical amputation includes cases where removing an extremity is necessary for a patient’s health. One of the most common causes is diabetes.
